چکیده

2014 From the exact numerical resolution of the discretized semi-classical equations of the anomalous skin effect theory, we prove that E.M. electron-electron coupling vanishes in the limit of short wavelengths (03BB typically shorter than 2 03BCm for noble metals). That leads to substantial simplification of the algorithms allowing the calculation of the surface impedance. In addition, numerical results show that these simplified algorithms remain very accurate up to wavelengths about 20 03BC where E.M. e-e coupling is weak but not negligible. We conclude that the corresponding simplified form of the Maxwell-Boltzmann equation constitutes a new approximation of the semiclassical theory, valid in the weak anomalous skin effect regime. Introduced a Modified Set of Boundary Condition of Lattice Boltzmann Method Based on Bennett extension in Presence of Buoyancy Term Considering Variable Diffusion Coefficients

Various numerical boundary condition methods have been proposed to simulate various aspects of the no-slip wall condition using the Lattice Boltzmann Method. In this paper, a new boundary condition scheme is developed to model the no-slip wall condition in the presence of the body force term near the wall which is based on the Bennett extension. The error related to the new model is smaller tha...

Altering infrared metamaterial performance through metal resonance damping

Infrared metamaterial design is a rapidly developing field and there are increasing demands for effective optimization and tuning techniques. One approach to tuning is to alter the material properties of the metals making up the resonant metamaterial to purposefully introduce resonance frequency and bandwidth damping. Damping in the infrared portion of the spectrum is unique for metamaterials b...

Electrostatic analysis of the charged surface in a solution via the finite element method: The Poisson-Boltzmann theory

Electrostatic potential as well as the local volume charge density are computed for a macromolecule by solving the Poisson-Boltzmann equation (PBE) using the finite element method (FEM). As a verification, our numerical results for a one dimensional PBE, which corresponds to an infinite-length macromolecule, are compared with the existing analytical solution and good agreement is found. As a ma...

Simulation of Micro-Channel and Micro-Orifice Flow Using Lattice Boltzmann Method with Langmuir Slip Model

Because of its kinetic nature and computational advantages, the Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has been well accepted as a useful tool to simulate micro-scale flows. The slip boundary model plays a crucial role in the accuracy of solutions for micro-channel flow simulations. The most used slip boundary condition is the Maxwell slip model. The results of Maxwell slip model are affected by the ac...
